Back in the fold yet again: Mauk reinstated by Mizzou to play in '16

Another chapter has been written in the saga involving Missouri signal-caller Maty Mauk.

The junior quarterback has been reinstated to the football program. Barring any change, he will compete on the team next year in 2016.

It's a fascinating development in what's become a convoluted career for the Ohio native. Mauk had been suspended earlier this season for four games due to a violation of team rules. Less than a week after he'd been reinstated, Mauk was suspended again -- this time for the remainder of the season.

With true freshman quarterback Drew Lock ensconced as the starter heading into '16, it'll be fascinating to see how Mauk fits into the proverbial puzzle.

Lock went 2-6 as the starting quarterback in 2015. Over his complicated career in Columbia, Mauk is 17-5 as the top signal-caller.
