Arkansas players making smooth adjustment to Dan Enos
With Jim Chaney leaving the Razorbacks to join the new coaching staff at Pittsburgh, Dan Enos made the unusual jump from head coach to offensive coordinator.
It's not as if the former Central Michigan coach was on the hot seat either. In fact, Enos' team advanced to a bowl game last season after finished the regular season with a 7-5 record. However the allure of the SEC proved to be too much for Enos, as he becomes the second offensive coordinator under Bret Bielema in Fayetteville.
"Dan's been through the fire," Bielema said to Whole Hog Sports. "He's made some very valid points, and I know only a head coach thinks that way."
After one offseason together, senior quarterback Brandon Allen has been won over by Enos and his offensive system.
"I've been through a lot of different people," Allen said. "As soon as we started going through the offense, and he started explain it and the concepts to us, I was excited for it and ready to practice it."
Bielema promised to turn the offense completely over to Enos and the player's coach sounds happy with his decision to come and compete in the toughest conference in the nation.
"I just try to handle our offense similarly to how I handled our team (at Central Michigan)," Enos said. "(Bielema) told me when he hired me, 'You're the head coach of the offense,' so it's been a very smooth transition that way."
