Arkansas land commit from four-star RB Devwah Whaley

The Under Armour All-American game got off to a great start for Arkansas, as the first live commitment of the game came from four-star running Dewwah Whaley, who pledged to play for Bret Bielema and the Razorbacks. Whaley had been committed to Georgia before Mark Richt's departure as head coach.

The 6-foot, 209-pound Whaley is rated as the No. 4 running back prospect in the nation by 247Sports and chose Arkansas over Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma among several others.

With the likely departures of both Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins to the NFL, not to mention the injury suffered by freshman Rawleigh Williams, the Razorbacks' depth at running back may never be as thin as it is heading into the offseason. If Whaley lives up to the hype, he could quickly develop into a key contributor in Dan Enos' offense as soon as next season.

The commitment gives the Razorbacks their 17th pledge in the 2016 recruiting cycle.
