Arizona Football coach Jim Michalczik’s son and Catalina Foothills HS senior tight end Max Michalczik announces his commitment.
Max Michalczik (pronounced muh-hall-CHECK) is an Arizona Football coaches son, he shares that relationship with his Catalina Foothills HS quarterback Rhett Rodriguez. Max and Rhett share a lot of things; they have attended the same high school, they have played on the same football team for four years, their dads are football coaches at the same school, and they have both committed to play football at the next level.
Rhett Rodriguez has committed to play for his father, Rich Rodriguez, a lifetime dream come true. Max did not get offered by Arizona but did commit last week to a school in Arizona. Max’s dad Jim is Rich Rod’s assistant offensive line coach.

Before coming to the University of Arizona, the senior Michalczyk has coached for years in the Pac-12 and the NFL. He is from Washington and played football for the Washington State Cougars on the offensive line and graduated in 1988.
Early in his 26-year coaching career, he served as the Oregon State Beavers Tight Ends Coach, so it’s no wonder that’s the position his son plays the most. Along with Oregon State, Jim has coached at Cal twice along with the Oakland Raiders. He has a ton of experience.
