Alabama senator urges Auburn to claim seven additional national titles

We thought the talking season was over. Apparently it's not in the Alabama state senate.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Alabama State Senator Tom Whatley sponsored a resolution Monday calling for Auburn to claim an additional seven national titles to the two officially claimed by the school.

The resolution states: "We call upon Auburn University to officially claim nine national championships in football to rightfully reflect the esteemed achievements and success of the Auburn University football program."

The two seasons Auburn won the championship, 1957 and 2010, apparently are not enough for Senator Whatley. With out giving any specifics on which seasons he believes Auburn to be champions, Whatley must want the 1993 team, which were banned from postseason play, as well as Auburn's undefeated 2004 team that were denied an opportunity to play for the BCS National Championship title, crowned as champions.
