Alabama representative congratulates Tide star, Heisman winner 'Brent Henry'

Someone clearly doesn't watch a lot of college football.

With her fellow state representatives, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Birmingham, took an opportunity to congratulate Alabama on its most recent national title Tuesday on the floor of the House of Representatives. However, judging from her prepared statement, she doesn't really watch the Tide play often.

"From the Heisman Trophy winner, Brent Henry, the quarterback, Jake Coker, and the tremendous 95-yard run of Kenyan Drake, all of the players, the entire 2015 team deserves our applause and congratulations," Sewell said.

The gaffe occurs at the 40-second mark:

Not knowing Jake Coker's name might be excusable. After all, he did play second fiddle on offense for the majority of the season. But Derrick Henry rushed for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns, broke Herschel Walker's SEC single-season rushing mark on his path to the Heisman Trophy and helped the Tide win yet another national title.

Sewell's statement didn't end well, either, as it appears she didn't know what call the championship the majority of Alabamians dream of 365 days a year.

"Once again, we the Alabama delegation stand here today with slight humility and great pride to congratulate the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama as the 2015 national football championship," Sewell said.

Someone's clearly not a die-hard football fan.
