Alabama DB Cyrus Jones wins Co-SEC Special Teams POTW award
Based upon his incredibly special performance against Charleston Southern this past Saturday, Alabama athlete Cyrus Jones was named as Co-SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Jones had two punt returns for touchdown in the 56-6 victory. One went for 43 yards, and other totaled 72 yards. This feat is enhanced even further by the fact it was the first time an Alabama player had ever returned two punts for touchdowns in the same game.
This statistic dates back to 1944, when Alabama began keeping records. Not only did Jones display immense athleticism and speed, but also demonstrated the vision needed to evade the coverage team en route to the end zone.
