Alabama currently the heavy favorite to win the playoff

We are just under a week away from knowing the field for the second ever college football playoff, and just like last season's tournament, Alabama will likely be the heavy favorite to win it all once again.

Here are the current odds heading into championship weekend:

Judging from these odds, Alabama, Oklahoma, Clemson and Michigan State are the clear favorites to be named to the playoff field. Of the four teams, only the Sooners have completed their season, the other three obviously need to win this weekend to punch their ticket to the playoff.

If you are looking to make a smart play that could pay off big, Stanford at 40-1 could very well make the field if Alabama or Clemson trip up in their respective championship games.
