Alabama attempting to get nation's No. 1 prospect on campus

How Alabama has been able to win four national championships over the last seven years is directly related to one factor over all others, thanks to their efforts on the recruiting trail, the Crimson Tide have had the most talent on their roster each and every season during that time. Head coach Nick Saban and his coaching staff are excellent recruiters and currently have New Jersey defensive lineman Rashan Gary as a top priority with signing day approaching.

Gary is believed to be leaning toward Michigan -- where his former high school coach Chris Partridge is on Jim Harbaugh's staff and Gary is spending his own money to travel to Ann Arbor for an unofficial visit this weekend -- and Ole Miss, but don't rule out the Tide just yet. Alabama is pushing hard to get Gary to spend the final weekend before signing day in Tuscaloosa.

Considering the Tide's track record of outstanding recruiting, it won't be a surprise if Saban and his staff are able to leave a lasting impression on one of the most outstanding prospects in the nation, especially after riding the nation's best defensive line to their latest national title.

Rated as a five-star prospect and the best prospect in the nation according to 247Sports, Gary recently announced he will be making his final declaration on live on National Signing Day in a most interesting way:

Live tweeting has yet to catch on but perhaps Gary will start a new trend in the recruiting world.
