Air Force QB Jefferson leaves game with injury

Air Force quarterback Tim Jefferson has left the game against New Mexico with an undisclosed injury.

Jefferson was injured on a 12-yard run late in the second quarter. He was tackled by two Lobos defenders and stayed on the ground. He was helped off the field with a towel on his nose, which was bleeding.

Backup quarterback Connor Dietz led Air Force on the last drive of the first half. Dietz threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Zack Kauth with 4 seconds left in the half to give the Falcons a 21-7 lead.

Jefferson rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown and threw for 21 yards before leaving the game.
