2024 Heisman Watch: Did Ashton Jeanty do enough to catch Travis Hunter?
Conference championship weekend was filled with drama, highlights, and plenty of outstanding individual performances.
Colorado standout Travis Hunter continues to dominate the Heisman leaderboard, even with Colorado not playing this weekend. Meanwhile, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty had another dominant showing this weekend, rushing for 209 yards and a touchdown while leading the Broncos to a Mountain West championship.
Both Hunter and Jeanty have a significant lead over Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel, who also had an impressive outing in Oregon's win over Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Here is a look at the current Heisman Trophy odds following conference championship weekend.
Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado: -2500
Hunter and the Buffaloes did not qualify for the Big 12 Championship Game, meaning the two-way star was idle this weekend while his top competition – Ashton Jeanty and Dillon Gabriel – both had the opportunity to shine and impress Heisman voters one last time.
Hunter did all he could to lock up college football's top individual award in Colorado's regular-season finale. He finished with 10 receptions for 116 yards and three touchdowns on offense, while adding another interception on defense – his fourth of the season - in the Buffaloes' dominant 52-0 win over Oklahoma State.
"Travis clinched the Heisman today with his performance," Colorado coach Deion Sanders said after the game.
Hunter has now totaled 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns, which moved him past Nelson Spruce for the most by a Colorado wide receiver in a single season.

Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State: +1000
Jeanty had the luxury of playing in a conference championship game this week, and the Boise State running back delivered in a big way. Jeanty carried the ball 32 times for 209 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' 21-7 win over ULNV on Friday night. With the victory, Jeanty and the Broncos earned a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff.
Jeanty has now rushed for 2,497 yards through 13 games, moving into fourth place among FBS all-time single-season rushing leaders. Jeanty trails record-holder Barry Sanders, who rushed for 2,628 yards back in 1988, by 131 yards with at least one more game guaranteed.

Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oregon: +30000
Gabriel put on a clinic in Oregon's 45-37 win over Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game. The senior QB completed 22 of 32 passes for 283 yards and four touchdowns as the Ducks improved to 13-0 and secured a first-round bye in the CFP.
Gabriel is completing better than 73% of his passes for 3,558 yards and 28 touchdowns through 13 games this season.
