2 injured Duke players receive 6th years from NCAA

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Duke says injured players Kelby Brown and Braxton Deaver have received sixth years of eligibility for 2015.

The school announced the NCAA's decisions Monday.

Both players suffered season-ending injuries in August. Brown, a linebacker, tore his left anterior cruciate ligament on Aug. 11 while Deaver, a tight end, tore his right ACL a week later.

Both players also missed the 2012 season due to injuries.

Brown was an all-Atlantic Coast Conference linebacker in 2013 while Deaver caught multiple passes in every game during the Blue Devils' run to the Coastal Division title, ACC championship game and Chick-fil-A Bowl.

No. 19 Duke (8-1, 4-1) enters this week's visit from Virginia Tech in first place in the Coastal and on track for a return to Charlotte.
