Yale beats Princeton 81-60, ties Harvard for 1st in Ivy
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) Justin Sears had 28 points and 12 rebounds on Friday night and Yale beat Princeton 81-60 to move into a first-place tie with Harvard in the Ivy League.
Javier Duren added 19 points and Sears scored 17 of his points in the second half as Yale (20-8, 9-2 Ivy) outscored Princeton 49-25 after trailing by three at halftime. The Bulldogs closed the game on a 30-7 run and moved to the top of the league standings as a result of Harvard's 57-49 loss at Cornell.
Princeton (12-14, 5-5) led 47-39 with 13:41 left, but had four turnovers over the next 2 1/2 minutes while Yale scored 10 straight to take its first lead of the second half. After a few quick lead changes, the Tigers went back in front for the last time at 53-51.
Steven Cook had 12 points and Clay Wilson 11 to lead Princeton.
