Wichita State snaps 3-game skid, tops Saint Louis 68-53
ST. LOUIS (AP) Zach Brown and Ron Baker each scored 14 points and Wichita State sandwiched a big run around intermission to post a 68-53 win over Saint Louis Saturday night.
Austin Gillmann hit a 3-pointer with 1:43 left in the first half to pull the Billikens within a point, 26-25, but the Shockers closed the half on a 6-0 run and pushed it to a 16-1 run early in the second half.
The victory snapped a three-game losing string for Wichita State (3-4), the school's longest since a six-game streak January, 2013. The short-handed Shockers lost all three of their games at the AdvoCare Invitational, falling to USC, Alabama and Iowa.
