Whitehead leads Seton Hall past Dartmouth, 84-67

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Isaiah Whitehead scored 18 points with a career-high eight assists to help Seton Hall beat Dartmouth 84-67 in the season opener for both schools on Friday night.

Derrick Gordon had 14 points and five assists, Khadeen Carrington scored 13 and Desi Rodriguez 12 for Seton Hall.

Seton Hall used an 8-0 run to take a 30-24 lead with four minutes left in the first half and led the rest of the way.

Carrington scored 11 points in the final 7:43 as Seton Hall slowly pulled away.

Freshman Evan Boudreaux made 7 of 14 field goals and 10 of 11 free throws to lead Dartmouth with 25 points. Connor Boehm scored 16.

Seton Hall shot 62 percent (29 of 47) from the field and outrebounded Dartmouth 45-27 to overcome poor shooting from the free throw line, where the Pirates made just 22 of 43.
