Villanova-Xavier showdown could shake up latest mock bracket
Circle Wednesday night on your calendar, folks. That's when Villanova heads to Xavier in a matchup of two Big East teams currently sitting on my one-seed line. That's the type of game with giant NCAA tournament implications.
But one other game with big-time tournament implications came on Monday night, when Virginia lost at Miami.
My newest bracket has both of those ACC teams as two-seeds, and you better believe those two teams plus a couple more ACC teams -- UNC and perhaps even Duke if it runs the table -- could all be in play for one-seeds come Selection Sunday, depending on what kind of wins they can get.
But Miami beating Virginia Monday had an interesting side note: In knocking Virginia off the one-seed line, Miami also managed to bring Oklahoma back up there.
Two Big East teams that are one-seeds. Two Big 12 teams that are one-seeds. And a whole ton of things that will change between now and Selection Sunday.
(Teams with an asterisk are expected to be automatic qualifiers as they currently lead their conferences)
