UNLV's Stephen Zimmerman out with a knee injury
UNLV interim head coach Todd Simon announced on Monday night that freshman forward Stephen Zimmerman is out with a sprained left knee.
The 7-footer suffered the injury during a double-overtime loss to Fresno State on Saturday night.
Zimmerman, a projected first round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, is averaging 10.6 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
This injury caps a difficult week for the UNLV frontline. Ben Carter, who is averaging 24.0 points per game, tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
The Runnin' Rebels are 13-11 (4-7 Mountain West) heading into Wednesday night's game against San Jose State.
