UMass ROUTS Clemson 82-65

LAS VEGAS (AP) Donte Clark and Trey Davis each scored 25 points, leading Massachusetts to an 82-65 victory over Clemson on Monday night to advance to the championship game of the Main Event tournament at MGM Grand.

Jabarie Hinds had 21 for UMass (4-0), which never trailed after the first two minutes of the game. The Minutemen led by as many as 28 in the second half.

UMass will play the winner of the Rutgers-Creighton game, which followed.

Clemson (3-1) struggled with its shooting through most of the game. The Tigers shot 25 percent in the first half and 38 percent for the game. They made just 6 of 27 from 3-point range.

Jaron Blossomgame led Clemson with 18 points, making 6 of 10 attempts. Avry Holmes added 13.

UMass set a fast pace from the start, jumping out to a 20-7 lead in the first seven minutes and taking a 44-22 lead at the half. Clemson made just two of its last 11 shots and at one point missed 10 in a row.

Clemson's backcourt of Holmes and Jordan Roper combined to make just 5 of 21 shots.

TIP-INS

Clemson: Until losing to the Minutemen, the Tigers had won their first three games by margins of 34, 33 and 20 points.

UMass: The Minutemen made 16 3-pointers for a second consecutive game, tying a school record.
