UCF 80, Jackson St. 39
Marcus Jordan scored 13 points and Keith Clanton added 12 points and 10 rebounds as Central Florida routed Jackson State 80-39 on Monday night to improve to 2-0 under first-year head coach Donnie Jones.
Jones, who left Marshall for Conference USA rival UCF last spring, has implemented an up-tempo, pressure defense style of play that seems to be suiting the Knights well. UCF has beaten West Florida and Jackson State by a combined 95 points.
UCF shot 59.6 percent from the floor (28 of 47). Defensively, the Knights held Jackson State (0-2) to 18.8 percent shooting (12 of 64).
The 39 points allowed tied UCF's school record for fewest points by an opponent since the Knights joined Conference USA.
The game was decided early on when UCF overwhelmed Jackson State on both ends of the floor and built a 29-7 lead.
The Tigers were led by Jenirro Bush with 15 points.
