Towson beats Northeastern, 82-54, in CAA quarterfinals (Mar 04, 2017)

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Zane Martin scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and Williams Adala Moto had 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals to help Towson beat Northeastern 82-54 on Saturday night in a Colonial Athletic Association Tournament quarterfinal.

Brian Starr also scored 12 points and Jordan McNeil added 10 for third-seeded Towson (20-12), which plays No. 2 seed College of Charleston in the semifinals on Sunday

Mike Morsell made a layup and Adala Moto scored the final six points of a 13-5 run to open the game and the Tigers never trailed. After Alex Murphy's layup pulled No. 6 seed Northeastern (15-16) to 15-10 with 8:54 remaining in the half, the Huskies missed eight of their next 10 field-goal attempts. McNeil's 3-pointer capped a 9-2 run that made it 24-12 about three minutes later and Towson led by double figures the rest of the way.

T.J. Williams led Northeastern with 15 points and Bolden Brace scored 10.
