Tavaras Hardy promoted

Tavaras Hardy, the former Northwestern basketball player who has been part of coach Bill Carmody's Wildcats staff the previous five seasons, was promoted to associate head coach Thursday.

Hardy was a four-year letterman for the Wildcats, graduating in 2002.

Hardy has been a top recruiter for the Wildcats. Northwestern has had back-to-back 20-victory seasons and made three straight appearances in the NIT.
