Sutton helps UNC Asheville defeat Presbyterian 70-61

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) Dwayne Sutton scored 23 points with nine rebounds and UNC Asheville defeated Presbyterian 70-61 on Thursday night.

Sutton was 8 of 14 from the field, 7 of 10 from the line and added four assists and four steals for the Bulldogs (18-9, 11-4 Big South). Trae Bryant added 11 points as Asheville shot 46 percent, despite hitting just 5 of 19 from beyond the arc.

Presbyterian (8-18, 3-12) was led by Janeil Jenkins with 16 points. DeSean Murray scored 11 points with seven rebounds and Reggie Dillard added 10 points.

Bryant's 3-pointer with 8:50 to go broke a tie at 44 and started a 15-4 run which gave the Bulldogs the lead for good.

Asheville kept pace with Winthrop (19-7, 11-4), a winner against Coastal Carolina, at the top of the conference. The two meet Saturday.
