Stony Brook moves to 5-0 in conference play (Jan 19, 2017)
STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) Lucas Woodhouse scored 18 points and hit four 3-pointers to help lead Stony Brook to an 80-64 win over Hartford on Thursday night.
Woodhouse finished 7 of 9 from the field and had six assists. Tyrell Sturdivant and Akwasi Yeboah each added 14 points for the Seawolves (10-8, 5-0 America East), who shot just 41.3 percent but got to the free-throw line 25 times, hitting 22 of them.
Jason Dunne led all scorers with 22 points for Hartford (6-14, 1-4), but the Hawks hit only 39.2 percent of their shots and were outrebounded 46-28, including 17-7 on the offensive end.
Sturdivant opened the second half with a 3-point play to give Stony Brook a double digit lead, 45-34. The Seawolves led by 10-plus points the rest of the way. A Woodhouse 3 pushed their advantage past 20, and a Michael Almonacy jumper made it a game-high 22, 77-55.
