Stark, Miller lead Murray St. past E. Kentucky, 88-73 (Jan 27, 2018)
MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Jonathan Stark scored 22 points, including six 3-pointers, and Terrell Miller Jr. had his eighth double-double of the season to help Murray State beat Eastern Kentucky 88-73 on Saturday night.
Miller finished with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting and 12 rebounds. Ja Morant and Byron Hawkins scored 16 points apiece for Murray State (16-5, 8-2 Ohio Valley Conference).
Miller scored seven points and Stark hit two 3-pointers during a 22-3 run that gave the Racers a 31-16 lead with 5 1/2 minutes left in the first half. Dedric Boyd's jumper pulled Eastern Kentucky (8-15, 2-8) within six points at the break, but the Colonels would get no closer. Stark, Miller and Hawkins each hit a 3 during an 11-0 run that made it 59-39 about six minutes into the second half and Murray State led by double figures the rest of the way.
Nick Mayo had 25 points, DeAndre Dishman scored 16 and Boyd finished with 12 for Eastern Kentucky.
Murray State shot 61 percent (33 of 54) from the field, including 11 of 20 from 3-point range, and outrebounded the Colonels 36-26.
