Sources: Marquette assistant to coach Liberty

According to sources, Layer — who worked under McKay as an assistant at Liberty in 2007 — has accepted the job and an official announcement is expected later this week.

Layer, 50, was 103-106 as the head coach at Colorado State from 2000-2007. He spent one season with McKay at Liberty before joining Buzz Williams' staff this past season.
