Siena 84, Northeastern 68

Ryan Rossiter had a double-double and Clarence Jackson scored 24 points as Siena defeated Northeastern 84-68 on Saturday.

Rossiter, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Player of the Year, finished with 28 points and 15 rebounds.

The Saints (1-2) started strong with a 16-for-32 performance from the floor in the first half (50 percent) but got even more accurate in the second, tallying a field goal percentage of 68.4 (13 of 19).

Siena led 39-34 at halftime, and was up 45-40 with 15:05 left to play on. The Saints then went on a 15-0 run over the next 3:33, sparked by eight points from Jackson and five from Rossiter.

The Huskies, who shot 39.3 percent in the second half (11 of 28) lost for the fifth straight time in the series.

Chaisson Allen scored 18 points and Jonathan lee and Kauri Black added 10 each for Northeastern (2-1).
