San Francisco buries Maine 93-50 behind Minlend's 22 points

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Charles Minlend scored a career-high 22 points with five 3-pointers and San Francisco hit 14 of 29 from long distance in beating Maine 93-50 on Saturday.

Six players scored in double figures for the Dons (2-0), who never trailed and led by as many as 47 points. Frankie Ferrari scored 13 points, Jimbo Lull and Jordan Ratinho had 12 apiece, and Matt McCarthy and Remu Raitanen added 10 each.

San Francisco led 46-20 at halftime behind Minlend's 16 points after shooting just 39 percent from the floor — though 42 percent from 3 (8 of 19) — but came out hot in the second half, hitting eight of its first nine shots while the Black Bears committed five turnovers.

Overall the Dons shot 48 percent from long distance, outrebounded the Black Bears 41-20 and outscored them 30-18 in the paint.

Andrew Fleming and Sergio El Darwich scored 14 points apiece for Maine (0-3), which shot 39 percent from the field (21 of 54).
