Saint Joseph's edges Drexel 72-71 (Dec 11, 2016)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Shavar Newkirk scored 27 points, including the go-ahead 3-point play with 11 seconds left, and Nick Robinson got a game-saving block to lift Saint Joseph's past Drexel for a 72-71 comeback win Sunday night.

Trailing by 10 in the second half, Saint Joseph's took its first lead of the game with an 18-5 run that made it 57-54 with 9:16 left. Drexel tied it with Kurk Lee's 3-pointer, then edged back into the lead with a pair of free throws from Rodney Williams. But this time, Saint Joseph's stayed close, tying the score at 61, 63 and 65 before retaking the lead with Newkirk's 3-point play.

Robinson blocked a 3-point attempt by Kari Jonsson as time expired to seal the win and snap the Hawks' four-game skid.

Lamarr Kimble added 16 points for the Hawks and Brendan Casper had 10.

Drexel got a career-best 29 points from Williams, who also had 10 rebounds.
