Role reversal: DePaul players storm the stands

DePaul notched its second upset victory of the season on Tuesday night, stunning No. 11 Providence.

On a cold, rainy night in Chicago only a dozen or so students made the half-hour commute from the Lincoln Park campus to to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, according to Ricky O'Donnell of SB Nation.

From his press row seat, O'Donnell asked one of the fans if they'd storm the floor, to which the student replied, "There's not enough of us to storm the court."

But after the 77-70 victory, the Blue Demons came to the students. O'Donnell captured video of Aaron Simpson, Rashaun Stimage and Peter Ryckbosch celebrating with fans in the stands.

Tuesday night marked the second time this season DePaul has knocked off a ranked opponent at home. The Blue Demons bounced No. 20 George Washington from the rankings back on Dec. 22 with a 21-point win.

Myke Henry led DePaul with 27 points and 11 boards. Providence superstar Kris Dunn had 14 points and eight assists. The Friars were without Ben Bentil for most of the game, as he was sidelined with an ankle injury.
