Robert Morris defeats CCSU 68-60

Lijah Thompson came off the bench to score 15 points as Robert Morris won its 500th game as a Division I program in a 68-60 victory over Central Connecticut State on Saturday night.

The Colonials shot 54.3 percent (25 of 46) from the field, surpassing the 53 percent mark for the third time in the past five games.

Russell Johnson added 15 points for the Colonials (21-8, 12-4 Northeast Conference), who have won five games in a row. The win snapped a two-game losing streak to the Blue Devils.

Robert Morris broke open the game with an 11-0 run to grab a 51-35 lead after a basket by Velton Jones with 9:15 remaining. The Colonials led by at least five points the rest of the way.

Kyle Vinales scored 32 points, with eight 3-pointers, for the Blue Devils (11-15, 8-8), who have lost seven of their past nine games.
