Rider 74, Howard 72

Jeff Jones scored 21 points, including a 3-pointer to spark Rider's game-winning run, as the Broncs edged Howard 74-72 on Monday night.

Rider (1-4) trailed 72-71 after Prince Okoroh's 3-pointer put the Bison (1-3) up with 51 seconds to play.

After Jones' 3-pointer with 34 seconds to go, Calvin Thompson turned the ball over for Howard. Jones missed two free throws on the other end for the Broncs, giving Howard one more chance.

Thompson, however, turned it over again, as Anthony Myles came up with the steal with 1 second to play.

Myles finished with 16 points for Rider, which snapped a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Thompson finished with 17 points and Okoroh 15 for Howard, which led 69-61 with 4:33 to play before giving up 10 straight. Simuel Frazier chipped in 14 points and Anton Dickerson had 12 for the Bison.
