Richmond defeats Duquesne 68-56

Justin Harper had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Richmond defeated Duquesne 68-56 on Saturday in both teams' regular-season finale.

Richmond (24-7, 13-3 Atlantic 10 Conference), which has won four games in a row and eight of its past nine, opens the Atlantic 10 tournament as the No. 3 seed on Friday. The Spiders have won 70 games over the past three seasons, more than any other three-year span in the 99-year history of the men's basketball program.

Kevin Anderson added 16 points and Cedrick Lindsay had 11 for the Spiders.

Duquesne (18-11, 10-6) was held to 32.8-percent shooting (21 of 64) from the field, including hitting only 3 of 22 attempts from 3-point range.

Richmond put together a 16-6 run midway through the second half to stretch its lead to 63-46 with 4:19 to play.

Bill Clark had 18 points, and Damian Saunders had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Dukes.
