Polite leads Radford past Stetson 80-66 in OT

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Ed Polite Jr. had 10 of his 21 points in overtime and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and Radford scored the last 11 points of the game to defeat Stetson 80-66 on Friday in the Savannah Invitational.

The Highlanders (2-3) outscored the Hatters (2-4) 17-3 in the extra session after going scoreless in the final 4:49 of regulation.

Stetson built a 35-30 halftime lead to 13 points five minutes into the second half and was down six near the five-minute mark as Radford went on a 19-5 run.

B.J. Glasford's steal led to a fastbreak layup by Angel Rivera with 8.2 seconds to go, tying the game at 63. Radford never got off a final shot.

Polite scored Radford's first six points in overtime before a 3-pointer and short jumper by Donald Hicks, who had 14 points, made it 74-66 with 2:14 to play.

Divine Myles had 17 points and Derick Newton 15 for Stetson.
