Oregon Ducks Take On Idaho Vandals In Final Non-Conference Tune-Up
The Oregon Ducks wrap up Non-Conference play hosting the Idaho Vandals.
Kelly Graves and the Oregon Women’s Basketball team put together quite a game in a blowout against Portland State on Saturday. They did it without the services of Freshman Sabrina Ionescu who will be out indefinitely with a broken bone in her shooting hand. Idaho will look to get back to .500 on Tuesday.
The last time the Vandals beat Oregon was in 1985. Oregon has 9 wins on the season so far and Pac-12 play begins next week. Oregon is a young team with proven leaders. Ionescu has shown her ability and in her absence, Ruthy Hebard now leads the charge for Oregon pushing 14 points per game. She was given Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors and his hitting over 80 percent of her field goals, the best percentage in the nation.

Idaho is averaging 67 points per game. Mikayla Ferenz leads Idaho averaging 16 points per game. She is hitting close to 40 percent from beyond the arc. Geraldine McCorkell is another player to watch averaging 5 rebounds per game. Karlee Wilson has 13 steals on the year. The Vandals are a composed team that will likely not make mistakes or be forced into them.
Oregon will need to play a balanced game. One of the strong points of the Ducks is how Head Coach Kelly Graves uses the talent that he has. He has enough players to set up two Starting Lineups which he will put on the floor together and let the chemistry build.
Lexi Bando and Maite Cazorla will lead in Ionescu’s absence. Mallory McGwire had a double-double last week and I expect Hebard to continue to shine. She has yet to attempt a three-point-shot this season.
The Oregon Ducks and Idaho Vandals tipoff on Tuesday at Noon from Matthew Knight Arena.
