Old Dominion 73, VCU 69

Ben Finney scored five of his 11 points in overtime, including a 3-pointer with 1:08 to play, and Old Dominion beat Virginia Commonwealth 73-69 Sunday to advance to the championship of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

Gerald Lee tied his career high with 26 points to lead the top-seeded Monarchs (25-8), who won their fourth straight and seventh in eight games. They will play either Northeastern or William & Mary for the league's automatic NCAA tournament bid on Monday night.

VCU (22-9), the fifth seed, had the ball and a chance to tie in the final seconds, but Ed Nixon's driving shot missed and the Monarchs came away with the loose ball after a scramble.

Nixon led the Rams with 14 points and Joey Rodriguez and Bradford Burgess had 13.
