Oklahoma Basketball: Sooners Win Big Over Oral Roberts

The Sooners returned home after suffering their worst loss of the season at Wisconsin over the weekend and got Oklahoma basketball back on a winning track with a 26-point win over Oral Roberts.

Oral Roberts scored the first two points of the game, but Oklahoma went on a 9-0 run after that and never trailed again in defeating the Golden Eagles 92-66 before a sparse crowd of 4,000 at Lloyd Noble Center on Tuesday night.

The Sooners were led by a 17-point scoring performance by sophomore Christian James, and Jordan Woodard added 15 as the Sooners chalked up their sixth win of the season against two losses.

OU shot 60 percent in the second half, connecting on18 of 30 field-goal attempts and finished with 52-percent shooting for the game. The Sooners high shooting percentage was aided and abetted by good ball movement and 19 assists by nine different players.

Rashard Odomes, who contributed a dozen points in the OU win, and Woodard contributed 28 of the Sooners 49 second-half points. Oklahoma led for all but three minutes in the game.

The Sooners got another strong performance from their reserves, who scored 39 points off the bench, and turned 20 Oral Roberts turnovers into 30 points.

Eight different OU players scored eight or more points in the game.

Two Oral Roberts players, Kris Martin and Jalen Bradley, scored 19 points apiece to lead the Golden Eagles in the scoring column.

The Oklahoma men play next on Saturday, when they will face Wichita State in Oklahoma City.
