'Oi Oi Oi!': SMU signs 2nd Australian for men's basketball
DALLAS (AP) SMU has signed a second player from Australia to a national letter of intent for the upcoming men's basketball season.
Coach Larry Brown announced Monday the signing of 6-foot-11 forward Harry Froling from Townsnville, Australia.
After playing with the Townsville Crocodiles in Australia's National Basketball League during the 2015-16 season, Froling was then invited to play for the World Team as one of the top 12 international players at the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon.
The Mustangs had previously gotten signed letters of intent from a pair of 6-5 guards, Tom Wilson from Melbourne, Australia, and Dashawn McDowell from Oklahoma City.
Froling and Wilson were teammates on the Australian Junior National Team that earned the silver medal at the 2014 U17 World Championship.
