Obekpa expected to visit Minnesota

Chris Obekpa had a roller-coaster of a career with St. John's. It started rocky, but at his peak, he was one of the best defensive players in the Big East. After a drug related suspension and a coaching change, however, Obekpa decided to call it quits with the Red Storm. With one year of eligibility remaining, he chose to transfer.

Gophers basketball coach Richard Pitino might not be done adding to his 2015 recruiting class with Obekpa expected to visit the Gophers this week, according to a source. 

Obekpa is St. John's all-time leader in blocks, and averaged 5.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 1.1 steals in 27 minutes per game last season.
