Oakland hires Waterfield as athletic director
ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) Oakland University has hired Steven Waterfield as its new athletic director.
The school announced the move Tuesday. Waterfield arrives after serving as an executive associate AD at Nebraska.
Waterfield replaces Jeff Konya, who left in February for Northeastern.
Waterfield joined Nebraska in August 2013. Prior to that, he spent two years as a senior administrator at Miami and seven years at Wisconsin. He also served five years as an assistant director for compliance at Ohio State. Waterfield, who holds a law degree, has also worked as an assistant attorney general in the Ohio attorney general's office.
