Northern Arizona shoots past North Dakota, 85-75
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) Kris Yanku pumped in 24 points by shooting 16-for-16 from the line and Northern Arizona stayed in the hunt for the Big Sky title by shooting past North Dakota, 85-75, on Thursday night.
The Lumberjacks (16-12, 11-4) entered Thursday's games trailing Sacramento State, Montana and Eastern Washington, all tied with three conference losses.
Yanku converted two second-half three-point plays and was 8 for 8 from the line in the second half. Jordyn Martin scored 17 points and Ako Kaluna added 16 for Northern Arizona.
Quinton Hooker scored 20 points to lead North Dakota (8-19, 4-12). Lenny Antwi added 15 points and Jaron Nash added 12. North Dakota shot 46.6 percent from the field (27 for 58), including 7 of 21 from deep, but was just 14 of 21 from the free-throw line (66.7 percent).
Northern Arizona was 28 of 58 from the field (48.3 percent), including 3 of 10 from deep, and 26 of 30 from the line.
