Nebraska extends coach Tim Miles' contract through 2019-20 season

Nebraska men's basketball coach Tim Miles has had his contract extended one year through the 2019-20 season.

Athletic department spokesman Shamus McKnight confirmed the extension Tuesday. McKnight did not have information on if any financial terms changed.

The Cornhuskers finished fourth in the Big Ten in 2013-14 and went to the NCAA tournament. The Huskers slipped to 13-18 last season. Miles is 47-49 in three seasons at Nebraska.

Miles was hired away from Colorado State in 2012 and signed a seven-year contract. It was the longest contract given to a Nebraska coach in any sport. Miles' annual salary was scheduled to increase to $1.775 million last month.
