N. Colorado withstands Idaho flurry for 81-77 win (Dec 31, 2017)

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) Andre Spight tied a career-high with 28 points with six 3-pointers and Jordan Davis scored 23 and Northern Colorado beat Idaho 81-77 on Sunday.

Northern Colorado (11-4, 2-0 Big Sky Conference) went up 77-68 on a 3-point play from Davis off a layup, and another free throw with 2:23 to play, before Idaho's 50-second, 7-0 run. Jordan Scott made a layup, Perrion Callandret got a 3-point play off a dunk and Brayon Blake dropped in a layup with 46 seconds left.

After Idaho called timeout, Tanner Morgan and Spight each sank a pair of free throws to seal the win. Morgan added 13 points for the Bears, who only committed eight turnovers.

Victor Sanders led Idaho (9-5, 1-1) with 19 points, Blake had 17, Callandret, 16 and Scott 11. The Vandals stayed close and missed just three of 19 free throws and capitalized on the Bears' nine misses from the line.
