Moody leads North Dakota to 104-48 romp in season opener
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Aanen Moody scored 20 points in his first game in two years, making 6 of 10 shots from 3-point distance, and North Dakota walloped Division III Northland College 104-48 in a season opener Tuesday night.
Moody, a redshirt freshman and a former Mr. Basketball in North Dakota made 7 of 12 shots from the floor in just 15 minutes of playing time. Cortez Seales added 16 points, Elijah Hazekamp scored 14 with eight rebounds. Ethan Igbanugo added 12 going 4-for-4 from distance.
North Dakota got 68 points off the bench as all but two players scored. The Fighting Hawks held a 24-10 advantage on points in the paint and 10-4 second-chance points and 16 off 13 Northland turnovers. They made 14 of 29 behind line.
Modesta Britton scored 12 and Brandon Galland 11 for the Lumberjacks, who shot 32 percent and were out-rebounded 47-30.
