Monmouth shoots past Drexel in the 2nd half, 82-74
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Justin Robinson scored 28 points and Monmouth outscored Drexel by 14 points in the second half to post an 82-74 victory Saturday afternoon.
Drexel (0-3) built a 37-31 lead in the first half, but it evaporated in the second. Je'Lon Hornbeak converted a pair of free throws that gave Monmouth (2-1) a 40-39 lead with 17:35 left.
Robinson knocked down 10 of his 17 shots from the field, including 3 of 7 from distance. Hornbeak finished with 17 points and Deon Jones added 13 rebounds for the Hawks, who shot 68 percent from the floor in the second half.
Rashann London scored 20 points and Rodney Williams added 16 to lead the Dragons while Kazembe Abif contributed 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Monmouth heads to Orlando for the three games in the Advocare Invitational, beginning with Notre Dame Thanksgiving night, and Drexel heads to the Great Alaska Shootout.
