Milwaukee's balance sinks SIU-Edwardsville 64-51

MILWAUKEE (AP) Matt Tiby led a balanced attack with 12 points and Milwaukee pulled away in the second half to defeat SIU-Edwardsville 64-51 on Thursday night.

Jordan Johnson had 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Cody Wichmann had 10 points for the Panthers (6-3).

Despite shooting 29 percent, Milwaukee led 29-26 at halftime and then shot 57 percent (13-23) in the second half, including 4 of 8 on 3-pointers.

Carlos Anderson led the Cougars (1-6) with 10 points. The Cougars, who have lost six straight, only shot 27 percent in the second half (9 of 33), going 1 of 8 behind the arc to finish 2 of 15 for the game.

Wichmann hit a 3-pointer with 6:31 left in the game to cap a 9-0 run that boosted Milwaukee's lead to 53-39 and the Cougars never got closer than 10 the rest of the way.
