Michigan State’s final game of the week comes against an Oral Roberts team that’s struggling to get anything going in the momentum column. The Golden Eagles are just 1-6 and have played two teams on Michigan State’s schedule already.

They have lost to Baylor, who Michigan State also fell to, and recently dropped against Oakland, who the Spartans play in three weeks. Still, they might be hungry for a big upset against the Spartans on Saturday evening.

Tom Izzo announced earlier in the week, after the Duke loss, that the Spartans would be playing the next 2-3 weeks without Miles Bridges. The freshman sensation went down with an apparent ankle injury and he will be out until mid-December, most likely.

While this is a blow to the post play, yet again, it gives this team a chance to gel and create other scoring options outside of Miles. Guys like Nick Ward, Eron Harris, Matt McQuaid, Josh Langford, Kenny Goins, Cassius Winston and Tum Tum Nairn will need to step up.

Luckily for the Spartans, the next 2-3 weeks consist of nothing but cupcakes, outside of Oakland. The next two weeks, which is three games, Michigan State plays teams with a combined 7-14 record. The schedule is favorable in Bridges’ absence.
