The same could be said for this squad which is currently 3-0 since losing Bridges, but the margin of victory against inferior opponents is slim. Outside of a 20-point win against Youngstown State, the Spartans only beat Oral Roberts by four and Tennessee Tech by eight.

Michigan State has a lot to figure out in the coming weeks before Big Ten play, but this team should be just fine. Nick Ward is playing well while Cassius Winston is maturing into a starting point guard — soon to take Tum Tum Nairn’s job. Josh Langford is getting healthier and the Spartans may learn the fate of Gavin Schilling soon.

Northeastern comes to town Sunday with a 5-5 record, even beating Connecticut earlier in the season, but the Huskies have lost three of four. Can the Spartans take advantage of a reeling team?
