Michigan State Recruiting: 5-star SF Brian Bowen names top 6
Michigan State recruiting made the final cut for five-star 2017 small forward Brian Bowen.
Tom Izzo has ramped up Michigan State recruiting over the past couple of classes. Starting with 2015, the Hall of Fame head coach reeled in one of the best groups in the country with Miles Bridges, Josh Langford, Cassius Winston and Nick Ward. Recruiting is turning the corner with the head coach.

To start the 2017 class, Izzo has already received a verbal commitment from five-star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. He was, at one point, a Maryland lean, then it looked like Purdue and now he’s a Spartan.
Recruits are starting to realize what kind of coach Izzo truly is and when given the chance, playing for a guy who was just inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame is tough to pass up.
Five-star 2017 small forward Brian Bowen is starting to realize it. He released his top six schools list on Wednesday which included Michigan State.

Texas, Arizona, North Carolina State, UCLA and Creighton also made the cut and right now, it looks like the Spartans are the clear leaders. He’s ranked the No. 14 overall prospect and fourth-best small forward in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports.
Getting a commitment from his La Lumiere teammates, Jackson Jr., has to help the Spartans’ case a little bit more. That and the fact that Bowen has been around the program for years and he’s related to Jason Richardson.
Bowen might make his decision before his senior season starts in November, but don’t hold your breath. I’d be shocked if the five-star forward picked anyone other than Michigan State.
