McGlynn, Norton lead Drake past North Dakota State, 95-88

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Nick McGlynn scored 23 points and Nick Norton posted a triple double as Drake held off North Dakota State, 95-88 at the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic on Saturday night.

The game is the third of four games scheduled over two days at U.S. Bank Stadium, the first basketball games the facility has hosted and is the site of this season's Final Four.

Drake (5-1) shot 69.2 percent from the field in the second half, knocking down 18 of 26 attempts, including 7 of 12 from beyond the 3-point arc. Overall the Bulldogs were 32 of 57 from the floor (56.1 percent), 12 of 23 from deep.

McGlynn, the team's lone returning starter, posted 23 points for the second straight game. Norton, a graduate transfer from UAB, equaled his season high with 18 points and added career highs with 13 rebounds and 17 assists.

Vinnie Shahid scored 29 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field, including 5 of 12 from distance for North Dakota State (2-6). Deng Geu added 21 points.
