March Madness Top Moments: The Round of 64 Begins

March Madness lived up to its name on Friday, as the underdogs delivered a bevy of upsets.

The day was started with No. 15 Oral Roberts stunning No. 2 Ohio State, followed by No. 12 Oregon State sending a message to No. 5 Tennessee, No. 13 North Texas delivering a blow to No. 4 Purdue and No. 11 Syracuse shocking No. 6 San Diego State.

No. 10 Virginia Tech Hokies vs. No. 7 Florida Gators
Result: Florida wins 75-70 in overtime

After blowing a 10-point lead and fighting back from a late six-point deficit, the Hokies sent the game into overtime with this 3-pointer from Nahiem Allenye.

But it was all Gators in overtime, with sophomore point guard Tre Mann hitting this stepback 3-pointer to propel the Gators to the win.

No. 14 Colgate Raiders vs. No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks
Result: Arkansas wins 85-68

Momentum was on Colgate's side early.

Jack Ferguson was on the receiving end of this incredible save, which set him up for an open 3-pointer.

Then the Razorbacks settled in, as they climbed back into the game behind some solid defense and never looked back.

No. 16 Drexel Dragons vs. No. 1 Illinois Fighting Illini
Result: Illinois wins 78-49

Ayo Dosunmu, the Fighting Illini's All-American, turned defense into offense against Drexel.

While Dosunmu made waves with his defense, freshman guard Andre Curbelo made his presence felt with this otherworldly pass through a defender's legs.

No. 11 Utah State Aggies vs. No. 6 Texas Tech Red Raiders
Result: Texas Tech wins 65-53

The Red Raiders unleashed a 24-4 run against the Aggies, which turned a halftime deficit into a second-half lead, capped by this floater from Mac McClung.

No. 15 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles vs. No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes
Result: Oral Roberts wins 75-72 in overtime

Ohio State came into this game as the heavy favorite, but that meant nothing to Oral Roberts.

Forward Deshang Weaver threw down a dunk to announce the Golden Eagles' presence early.

Guard Max Abmas was on a roll, dropping 18 points before heading into the locker room at halftime.

Oral Roberts would not go down without a fight, playing just as tough in the second half and battling OSU into overtime. 

And down went Ohio State, becoming the ninth 2-seed in NCAA Tournament history to be upset by a 15-seed.

No. 16 Hartford Hawks vs. No. 1 Baylor Bears
Result: Baylor wins 79-55

Forward Jonathan Tchamwa showed no mercy, hitting a monster jam to get things going for top-seeded Baylor.

The dunks kept coming for the Bears, as they routed the Hawks with ease.

No. 9 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. No. 8 Loyola Chicago Ramblers
Result: Loyola Chicago wins 71-60

From offense to defense, Georgia Tech gave Loyola Chicago fits from the start, as guard Michael Devoe snagged a steal and escaped for an easy layup.

But it didn't take long for the Ramblers to start firing on all cylinders, seeing every option on the floor.

Loyola Chicago kept the magic going with an impressive score from forward Aher Uguak en route to a smooth victory.

No. 12 Oregon State Beavers vs. No. 5 Tennessee Volunteers
Result: Oregon State wins 70-56

The Beavers followed in Oral Roberts' footsteps for the second upset of the day.

Oregon State dropped 3s from way downtown for the dub and its first tournament win since 1982.

No. 13 Liberty Flames vs. No. 4 Oklahoma State Cowboys
Result: Oklahoma State wins 69-60

If you don't know his name, you should. Guard Cade Cunningham was just too smooth with the spin and score.

Cunningham followed with some defense on the other end for a big-time play from forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe.

No. 9 Wisconsin Badgers vs. No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels
Result: Wisconsin wins 85-62

That was a bang from Wisconsin guard Jonathan Davis on a perfectly executed backdoor move.

The Badgers were lighting it up on both ends, from the steal to an easy shot from behind the arc to end the first half.

It was all Badgers all the time, as guard Brad Davison led the way with 29 points and six rebounds.

No. 15 Cleveland State Vikings vs. No. 2 Houston Cougars
Result: Houston wins 87-56

Houston got off to a hot start, as forward Reggie Chaney grabbed the block and provided an assist for forward Justin Gorham.

Houston showed off its moves in a dominant performance.

No. 13 North Texas Mean Green vs. No. 4 Purdue Boilermakers
Result: North Texas wins 78-69

North Texas put Purdue on upset alert early before the Boilermakers came alive late in the second half. Forward Trevion Williams impressed with a tomahawk jam to close the gap, and Jaden Ivey hit a circus bucket to tie it up.

But Purdue couldn't close it out, and the Mean Green wrecking machine knocked off the 4-seed for their first NCAA Tournament victory.

No. 10 Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. No. 7 Clemson Tigers
Result: Rutgers wins 60-56

Guard Ron Harper Jr. put P.J. Hall on a poster, and it was filthy. 

Rutgers was straight dunking on Clemson all night, as guard Jacob Young evaded the defense for a slam.

No. 11 Syracuse Orange vs. No. 6 San Diego State Aztecs
Result: Syracuse wins 78-62

Guard Buddy Boeheim could not miss, as the Orange started off strong against San Diego State.

The rest of the team joined in, dominating the Aztecs from deep.

No. 12 Winthrop Eagles vs. No. 5 Villanova Wildcats
Result: Villanova wins 73-63

Early, Winthrop's effort was next-level, as guard Chandler Vaudrin whipped one around to forward Chase Claxton for two.

The Wildcats asserted themselves and dominated down the stretch.

No. 14 Morehead State Eagles vs. No. 4 West Virginia Mountaineers
Result: West Virginia wins 84-67

The Eagles were flying, most notably guard KJ Hunt with a drive to the glass and finish.

West Virginia guard Miles McBride was ready to answer with a steal and bucket of his own – plus the foul.

The Mountaineers kept pouring it on, including a backdoor look from forward Jalen Bridges en route to victory.
